How it works

Connect in minutes, browse in seconds

DevOps Navigator is a client-side dashboard: your browser talks directly to Microsoft’s Azure DevOps APIs. Here is the whole flow.

  1. 1. Open the sign-in page

Go to the sign-in page. No account, no installation, no download - DevOps Navigator is a web app that runs in your browser.

  2. 2. Enter your organization URL

Paste your Azure DevOps organization URL (for example https://dev.azure.com/your-org). The app recognizes the organization from the URL.

  3. 3. Paste a read-only PAT

Create a personal access token in Azure DevOps with read scopes for Work Items, Project and Team, and Code. Paste it in. The token can expire whenever you choose - 30 or 90 days is a good default.

  4. 4. Browse the dashboard

Projects, recent work items, activity, repositories and changesets load straight from the Azure DevOps APIs. Filters and search work across the whole organization.

  5. 5. Sign out when done

Signing out clears the token from browser storage. You can also clear site data in your browser at any time to remove everything.

What happens with your data

  • Stored locally. Your token and organization URL are kept in this browser's local or session storage - never on a DevOps Navigator server.
  • Sent to Microsoft only. API requests go directly from your browser to https://dev.azure.com (and related Azure DevOps hosts).
  • Read-only. DevOps Navigator only reads data. It never creates, updates or deletes anything in your organization.
  • No analytics. The dashboard does not embed third-party analytics or tracking.

Ready to try it? You only need an Azure DevOps organization.
